D-III Hockey returns to Ames: Cyclones face Waldorf D-III Hockey returns to Ames: Cyclones face Waldorf Noah Huckaby, Sports Reporter October 14, 2026 Anna Graf ISU Men’s Hockey players on the ice scramble along with the visiting McKendree players to get control of the puck after a faceoff, Ames Ice Arena, Ames, Iowa, Nov. 22, 2025. The Division III Iowa State hockey squad will play a home-and-home after being off last weekend. Iowa State will play in Forest City, Iowa, at Waldorf Friday and in Ames Saturday. Friday’s puck drop is at 7 p.m., and Saturday’s is set for 6:30 p.m. Iowa State will play in front of Cyclone Nation for the first time this season, and the first time in several years after the team got suspended.  Iowa State’s home opener was supposed to be against St. Louis earlier this season, but the game got canceled.  The Cyclones play Waldorf’s Division II team, one of two Division II foes Iowa State will play this season. The last Division II game was against Creighton, where Iowa State won 3-2.  One of Waldorf’s key players is Ethan Maisonneuve. The Warriors forward leads the team in assists, with four in six games.  Atryk Brandt is Iowa State’s equivalent to Maisonneuve. Brandt has three assists in four games played, and most likely plays a similar role as Maisonneuve.  Waldorf’s scoring this season is spread out across several players. Leading the team is Owen Huneke with three goals, and following close behind him are seven other skaters with two. Some of those players are Maisonneuve, Blake Raddatz and Treyson White. Leading Iowa State’s scoring with three goals each are Braden Lafleur and Cole Burkle.  This weekend will be another test for the Cyclones against a high-level Waldorf team. 0 Like This Story Share on Facebook Share on X Email this Story Print this Story Tags: Atryk Brandt Braden Lafleur Cole Burkle Donate to Iowa State Daily $6,633 $10,000 Contributed Our Goal Your donation will support the student journalists of the Iowa State Daily.
